FLEXIBILITY...

This week in Storytime we were superheroes. We flew through the air, we were strong, we could win against any bullies...and then we attempted some superhero yoga moves.

Didn't know they existed did you?

Either did I.

But we did some warrior poses, some calming poses.

The kids were great at this and had a blast. I have never been flexible and the older I have gotten, the less flexible I have become.

Not even in my dreams could I do this.

I did love the way the kids encouraged me though. There was a chorus of 'you can do it'...alas I couldn't. But they believed I could. Aw.

At the moment flexibility also is being applied to work/play balance.

A bit of this...

means a lot less time to write.

Although we are working on naps. Working on, is the word here but we can dream.

And even though I have had to adapt to what I 'thought' I was doing this week ---in fact as I'm writing this Guggle is at my side, crayons in one hand, paper in the other. She wants me to come and draw with her. And I will.

It's all a learning curve isn't it. Life and all the crap it throws at you. The good, the bad, and the ugly...it all teaches you something. Whether about others or about yourself.

Last night our girls put on a dancing show. I had to sit back and watch as they jived and danced...and I must admit I burst into tears. I had so much love for these two little girls and I just felt so overwhelmed but also so privileged to be a part of their lives.

So even though I could never....EVER...do anything near this....I'm learning to be so much more adaptable and flexible in other aspects. If I put my mind to it, I'm sure I'll be able to get something done.

And besides...Guggle has to sleep some time.

Doesn't she?
